STORY OF A MISSIONARY

STORY OF A MISSIONARY
He drank cassava garri for a whole month and slept on woonden bench for three months.
A missionary who was deployed to Anambra state at a time recounted his ordeal.
He was sent to Awka suburb from Southwest to spread the gospel and disciple. But on getting there the church headquarters stopped support. He became stranded and has to begin to find his own means of survival.
He didn't know anyone, and his contact person couldn't accommodate him. The arrangement was that they will send accommodation fund to him as soon as he gets to the mission field.
Without knowing the sender church will dissapoint,he went and was met with lack of support.
He narrated how he suffered by drinking garri everyday for 1 month.
He was denied support for 3 months and he suffered terribly because the sender church weren't available anymore.
When asked why they neglected him or decieved him into going without proper arrangement. He responded they changed the plan or weren't just able to meet up again.
Yet he won about 5 souls and discipled them.
Yes the situation wasn't palatable and even dissapointing to him,but he sacrificed it for the sake of positive impact.
He didn't complain, he didn't murmur,he didn't blame anybody. He endured such hardness as a good soldier of Christ and made sure he laboured to get 5 new souls for Christ.
The worth of a man isn't known by his reaction against hurt, but by his ability to channel the hurt in a positive way for positive impact.
You can't compare such a man by quantity of church members but by quality of service rendered for the Lord's sake out of discomfort. And that is why his 5 souls for the Lord might be far greater than a thousand souls who are simply benchwarmers.
If you know what it takes to go hungry for months just because those who God sent to send you disappointed. You will always appreciate genuine missionaries who suffered to spread the gospel message.
If I may ask you too, what are you suffering on in your life so that others may be impacted positively?
Begin to think about what you too can sacrifice as a believer in Christ so others could be reached and rescued for God. Don't just live, live impactful life.
Begin to consecrate your time, your skills and yourself on the altar of service.
Would there be any stars in your crown?
Think about this and change today.
Your brother,
